Operating Statistics for the Transformational Question Answering System

This paper presents a statistical summary of the use of the Transformational Question Answering (TQA) system by the City of White Plains Planning Department during the year 1978. A complete record of the 788 questions submitted to the system that year is included, as are separate listings of some of the problem inputs. Tables summarizing the performance of the system are also included and discussed. In general, performance of the system was sufficiently good that we believe that the approach being fol lowed is a viable one, and are continuing to develop and extend the system.
